Split PDF File
Sometimes you only need part of a PDF: the signed page, one chapter, or a statement without the cover. This tool extracts the pages you pick, splits a document into equal parts or saves each page separately, all in your browser. Built for Australian users, with nothing sent to a server.

How do I extract pages from a PDF?
Choose the PDF, select 'Extract pages', type the pages you want such as 1-3, 5, 8- and press Split. The pages are copied into a new PDF in your browser. You can also split every N pages or save each page as its own file. The document is not uploaded.
Choosing a mode
Extract pages when you want one document containing selected pages. Split into parts of N pages when a long document must be cut into equal sections, for example under an upload limit. Save every page when you need each page as a separate file.
The tool makes up to 200 files at a time.
Pages and numbering
Page numbers are the physical position in the file, not the number printed on the page, so a document with a cover and roman-numbered front matter may have printed page 1 at file page 5. Open the PDF and look at the page counter in your viewer.
To combine documents instead, use the merge PDF tool.
How this is calculated
The rule, step by step, so you can check any figure by hand.
page numbers are read from your list, with 8- meaning page 8 to the endthe chosen pages are copied into a new document in the order you gave'every N pages' makes one file per block of pageseach file is saved and offered as a download
Extracting pages copies them exactly: fonts, images and layout are unchanged. Extracting 2-4, 1 gives pages 2, 3, 4 and then 1, so you can also reorder by listing pages in a new sequence.
The tool will not extract pages that do not exist and tells you the page count so you can correct the list. Password-protected PDFs cannot be read.
A worked example
A 12-page statement from which you need pages 1-2 and 12.
- Pages entered1-2, 12
- Pages extracted3
- Resultstatement-pages.pdf
A three-page PDF.
Other files are not changed.
Privacy
The PDF stays on your device throughout, which suits sensitive material under the Privacy Act 1988.
What it leaves out
Splitting by bookmarks or by size is not offered, and signed documents lose their signature when changed. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
What this calculator does not do
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be split
- Signatures and bookmarks do not carry over
- Up to 200 output files
- Page numbers are file positions
