JPG to PDF Converter

Forms, applications and email often want a single PDF, but what you have is a handful of photos or scans. This tool places each image on its own page and builds the PDF in your browser, so documents such as IDs and statements are never uploaded. Built for Australian users, with nothing sent to a server.

How do I convert JPG images to a PDF?

Choose your images in the order you want, pick A4 or the image's own size, and download the PDF. Each image is placed on its own page, centred and scaled to fit with a margin you set. The PDF is built entirely in your browser, so personal documents such as licences, payslips and bank statements are not sent to a server.

    Making a good document PDF

Take photos square-on in good light and fill the frame, then crop out the background if you can. For text documents, 85 to 90% quality keeps print readable. Put pages in order before you choose the files, because the PDF follows the order the browser lists them in.

Remember that the result is a picture of a document, not searchable text, so it cannot be copied or searched without OCR.

    Privacy

Documents such as licences, passports and statements are exactly what you should not upload to a stranger's server. This tool never sends them anywhere: the PDF is made in your browser's memory and offered as a download. Australian organisations handling other people's documents will want that, under the Privacy Act 1988.

To reduce each image first, use the compress image tool.

    How this is calculated

The rule, step by step, so you can check any figure by hand.

    • each image is drawn to a canvas and saved as a JPEG at your chosen quality
    • A4 pages: the image is scaled to fit inside the margins, centred, and the page turns landscape if the image is wider than tall
    • 'same size as each image' makes the page the image's pixel size at 72 points per 96 pixels
    • the pages are assembled into a PDF 1.4 file with each JPEG embedded unmodified

A PDF is a container, and a JPEG can be dropped into it as is. The tool writes the PDF's structure by hand, each page, its image and an index of where everything sits in the file, and embeds the JPEG data directly. That is why it needs no library and why the result is small.

Quality inside the PDF is the JPEG quality: 85 gives a sharp, small file, and 60 gives a very small one with visible softness on text. For scanned text documents, higher quality keeps small print legible.

    A worked example

Three phone photos of a document, each about 3 MB, combined onto A4 pages at 85% quality.

    1. Photos3 files, about 9 MB
    2. PDF3 pages, about 2.4 MB
    3. Savedroughly 70%

A three-page PDF small enough to email.

    Other things people want

Merging existing PDFs, splitting a PDF, or converting a PDF to images needs a PDF parser that does not fit in a browser tool of this size, so those are not offered. This tool builds a PDF from images only.

    What it leaves out

No cropping, rotating or reordering after selection, and no text recognition. HEIC photos work only in browsers that can read them.

What this calculator does not do

    • Images in, PDF out; no merging of existing PDFs
    • No cropping, rotating or OCR
    • Images are stored as JPEG
    • Large batches depend on device memory

    Common questions

    Is my document uploaded?

No. The PDF is built in your browser and never leaves your device.

Can I combine several images into one PDF?

Yes, each image becomes a page, in the order you chose the files.

What size is the PDF page?

A4, switching to landscape for wide images, or the same size as each image.

    Can I merge two PDFs?

Not with this tool, which builds PDFs from images only.

Will the text in the PDF be searchable?

No, the pages are pictures. Searchable text needs OCR software.
