The short version: what you type into a calculator never leaves your browser, because there is nowhere for it to go.
Calculator inputs
Every calculation on this site runs in your browser using JavaScript that was delivered with the page. Salaries, land values, dates of birth, clinical figures and everything else you enter stays on your own device.
We do not receive it, cannot see it, and store none of it. There is no account, no login and no database behind these tools.
Analytics
If site analytics are enabled, they record page views and general usage — which pages are visited, roughly where in the world from, and which browser. That service sets its own cookies and processes data on its own terms.
Analytics never receive calculator inputs. The measurement script cannot read the fields, and nothing on the page passes values to it.
Advertising
If advertising is enabled on this site, the advertising network may set cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, and may use them for personalisation subject to your own settings with that provider.
Ad slots on calculator pages sit below the calculator and below the direct answer, never between an input and its result. That is a usability rule rather than a legal one, and it holds regardless of what any network would prefer.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to put in that message — typically your address and whatever you have written. It is used only to reply to you: no mailing list, no third-party form provider in between, and nothing passed on to anyone else.
Your rights
Australian visitors have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. New Zealand visitors have rights under the Privacy Act 2020, including the right to ask what personal information is held about you and to have it corrected.
In practice, the answer to "what do you hold about me" is almost always nothing beyond a message you sent us, if you sent one. Ask via the contact page and we will confirm and delete on request.
